Renowned Italian performance car manufacturer Abarth will join Festival Italia as a headline sponsor when the event returns to Brands Hatch on Sunday 13 August.
This new partnership will include a large amount of involvement from the ‘scorpion-badged’ marque on the day itself, including opportunities for guests to test drive a number of models on the legendary Brands Hatch Grand Prix loop. The manufacturer’s current range includes versions of the Abarth 595 and 124spider – both of which adhere to a philosophy of agile performance.
In addition to opportunities to drive the cars, including the 124 spider, those seeking to find out first-hand what Abarth’s 595 is capable of can sign up for an Abarth Auto Test Experience. Here you will be strapped into the driver’s seat, with a professional instructor alongside, for a breathtaking, seat-of-the-pants thrill ride which will take the cars to their limits on a challenging handling course in the paddock.
Both the test drives and Auto Test Experiences are completely free of charge, and all you need to take part is a Festival Italia ticket and a valid UK driving licence. Details of how guests can book a test drive or ride will be made available in due course.
This arrangement between Festival Italia and Abarth will also manifest itself with an increased Abarth presence in the event’s hugely popular off-track car displays. Fleets of Abarths, old and new, are expected to appear, ranging from the latest modern day models, supplied by Abarth UK, to a wide selection of retro machines provided by the Abarth Owners Club UK member Tony Castle-Miller, of Middle Barton Garage.
There will also be increased exposure for Abarth on Festival Italia’s official website, promotional artwork, and the official souvenir programme which can be purchased at the event.
Festival Italia sponsored by Abarth will blend on and off-track action, including Italian-themed racing, displays, and demonstrations, with Mediterranean cuisine, shopping, and plenty of fun for families.
